What is recovery after surgery?
Most patients can resume activity after approximately two weeks post operatively.
No heavy lifting more than a gallon of milk, twisting, or bending for the two weeks after surgery.

When can I return to work?
Patients with employment that requires heavy lifting or activity can go back to work approximately two weeks after surgery.
Patients with clerical jobs, supervisory roles etc., can typically return to work in 2-3 days.

Can I shower and take care of myself after surgery?
The incision for an endoscopic procedure is less than 1 centimeter in length. We close the incision with absorbable suture and use glue and waterproof bandages.
Patients can ambulate and shower immediately after surgery.

What benefit is there to endoscopic spine surgery versus a traditional disc removal?
No muscle cutting is involved in endoscopic spine surgery. Very little bone is removed during the procedure in areas such as the facet joints.
More bone removal is required during traditional disc removal surgeries.

Can I travel to your hospital to undergo endoscopic spine surgery?
Endoscopic spine surgery is perfect for medical tourism. Patient’s typically do not need to stay in the area for recovery.
